Gas Street, in the heart of Birmingham's main entertainment and leisure district, has undergone extensive refurbishment to provide some of the most desirable, contemporary office space available in the city.
Jonathan Lawes says: "22 Gas Street typifies what our approach is all about. The building was originally occupied entirely by ITV as their Birmingham broadcast studios, but by 2010 they only required part of the building and were looking to dispose of the property while taking a leaseback on the space they needed.
"After we bought it for our Cubemaker fund, ITV's smaller requirement freed up 30,000 sq ft of space. However, the surplus workspace interiors were old fashioned and worn while the building's reception area had no presence and provided a very negative first impression. We delivered a high quality refurbishment which has created a distinctive and dynamic new workplace, repositioned the building in the market, and capitalised on the growing attraction of the waterfront location."
