Cube Real Estate bought 22 & 35 Gas Street for the Cubemaker fund in August 2010. The building is in the centre of Birmingham overlooking the historic Canal Network and a few minutes walk from Brindleyplace.
No 22 was previously entirely occupied by ITV. Following Cube's purchase, ITV retained a presence in the building, but their smaller space requirement freed up 40,000 sq ft of offices.
This space was refurbished by Cube with architects, Stiff + Trevillion, to provide state-of-the art offices from 1,000 sq ft upwards.
Gas Street is in the heart of the Brimingham's creative and entertainment quarter and through carrying out such a contemporary refurbishment Cube has re-orientated the building to match occupier demand in the area.
It is a development which embodies Cube's approach and has created a distinctive and dynamic new workplace.
Following completion of the refurbishment, 22 Gas Street was launched onto the market in September 2011.
